Co-production means ‘working together’ using the expertise and experience of service users, their families and partners, the community, the third sector, front line NHS and care staff, as well as leaders, in developing and improving services.
On this Coproduction page we want to showcase the work that maternity health and care professionals together with service users have shaped and developed together directly learning from your comments and feedback

15 Steps -
Here is the MNVP Maternity & Neonatal 15 Step Report that was completed last year. The report has been updated with the completed actions, showing how staff have responded to the points the parents raised on the visit.
We have another 15 Steps visit planned for the 17th March at West Cumberland Hospital Maternity Unit and Outpatients and on 24th March at Cumberland Infirmary Maternity Unit and Women’s Outpatients. If you are a parent and would be interested in this visit with us to bring a service user perspective, please get in touch.
Last Autumn over 660 parents responded to a survey where we asked about your views about Partners staying overnight and Honister Ward, and about Visting Hours on the Maternity Ward to. Overwhelmingly you wanted the option of partner/ birth supporter being able to stay with you overnight. We are pleased to say that the new Postnatal Ward is now in use, the single room ensuites have reclining chairs for partners to stay overnight. Visiting hours have been updated too.
One Mum told the MNVP that the rooms were the best thing, giving you some privacy and quiet space, “You can shut the door and be a family”.
